| MIME ARTIST Michael Carl O'Neill, who donned green grease paint and Vaseline yesterday as the "living statue" of Sir John A. Macdonald, felt it fitting to give Barbara Kemp, who played Queen Victoria, a tulip prior to a Victoria Day parade at Queen's Park. |

| A "living statue" of Sir John A. Macdonald enlivens Victoria Day festivities in Toronto yesterday, Mime artist, Michael Carl O'Neil - buried beneath his makeup - drew big laughs when he stuck out his tongue! |
|
Sir John A. Macdonald was at Queen's Park yesterday to celebrate Queen Victoria's birthday. So was the Queen herself. The pair were among several hundred people who participated in the 18th annual Victoria Day parade. Organizer Ian Payton said the crowd was smaller than last year, possibly because Toronto's stores were open as part of a SARS recovery plan. Professional mime artist Michael Carl O'Neill donned dark green grease paint and latex covered in Vaseline in his enactment of the "living statue" of Sir John A. Ontario's minister of citizenship, Carl DeFaria, led the parade along Bloor St. to Yonge St., then back to the lawn of the Legislature. |
